World Summit Awards (WSA) is a global initiative launched in 2003
in the framework of the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society
(WSIS). WSA is based on a unique mechanism of a global contest supported by national
selections of best practice and a sequence of content-focused national and international
events, content conferences and promotional exhibitions. A pool of eminent professionals
and a national expert select the best applications, which will be representing Bulgaria
in the global contest.
World Summit Awards (WSA) is dedicated to selection and promotion
of the best e-content and innovative applications.
In 2009 the Bulgarian project "Street Dance School - the Centre" was awarded in the WSA
category e-Entertainment and Games (http://www.wsis-award.org/winners/e-entertainment-and-games)
World Summit Award - mobile (WSA-mobile) is the mobile edition
of WSA promoting mobile solutions that can add value and make the society more inclusive.
The
Bulgarian Project SmartMuseum was among the winners in the category m-Tourism
& Culture in the first edition of the World Summit Award Mobile.
